Giveaway: Chrissy Gemmill Jewelery

The lovely and talented Chrissy Gemmill recently sent me a few pieces of her handcrafted jewelery to check out and review. My favorite piece was this adorable vintage button ring- it's very well-made and I love that's simple and understated, but still adds a little pop of interest to a regular outfit or typical day. Chrissy uses a lot of different materials to create her one of a kind pieces, and I feel lucky to call a couple of them my own.

From her website:

I am a work at home Mom. I have a precious two year old little boy. While he sleeps I work with my little dog Tippy by my feet. I have a wonderful husband Matt who is very supportive of my craft. I also teach a few jewelry making classes and workshops.

My list of inspirations is huge as my everyday existence is filled with subliminal creative messages. But mostly I draw inspiration from nature, Victorian lifestyle, Gothic art and architecture, retro fashion, Halloween imagery and love.

I do not like to adhere to any specific rules when I design except that my line must remain cohesive. I take what I do seriously but it is important to me to have fun with it.

----------

Chrissy and I have emailed back and forth quite a bit, and I've really enjoyed getting to know her.  If you'd like to learn more about the lady behind the art, feel free to read this article, published in a local publication. I just adore Chrissy, and with Christmas just around the corner, there is nothing better than supporting artists and the handmade community.

And today, she is generously offering up a giveaway for all of you!

Giveaway: THEIT Camera Bags

I am really, really excited about this awesome giveaway. REALLY excited. Not only because THEIT bags are super rad, but because I actually have one of my own (thank you THEIT!) and love, love, love it.  I don't know how I went so long without a cute camera bag like this. It's really well-made, beyond adorable, and keeps all of your camera gear safe and sound. I'll be posting a few shots with my Bossi bag sometime soon, but in the meantime you have a chance to win one of your very own!

A few things I love about this camera bag -

all of the soft (but not too soft) compartments inside to keep your camera and lens safe
the overall look of the bag - it's SO not a camera bag
the long strap and the shoulder straps
the easy zipper top that keeps smaller items from falling out
the customizable inserts to suit your needs

And I also wanted to share the little back story from THEIT's website:

Nicole Fajardo, founder and director of THEIT, conceptualized the idea while working as an international flight attendant based in Dubai. Years of experience working in management, marketing and visual design, and a vehement love for fashion took on a new life while she travelled the world and developed an interest in capturing the moments around her through the camera lens. This passion for photography led her to faraway locales, where she dined in Paris, shopped on the side streets of India, and daydreamed along the canals of Venice - the only thing that was missing from these jet-setting travels was a fashionable camera bag to protect her gear. A fruitless search sparked a dream and a vision, and THEIT was launched in 2010.

Pretty neat, huh?

Here's how to enter to win a Bossi bag of your very own ($159 value):

Be a follower of this blog. Visit the THEIT website and let me know what color you'd choose if you won. Leave a comment with your name, email, and color of choice.

 For additional entries:
  • Tweet and/or blog about this giveaway, then leave up to two additional comments with your name and email, and a link to the tweet or post. Feel free to copy the tweet below.
Win a @THEITbags Bossi Camera Bag via @danihampton and
Sometimes Sweet! http://tinyurl.com/3lqxusb
  • Follow THEITbags on Twitter and/or become a fan on Facebook, then leave up to two more additional comments letting me know you did so, along with your name and email yet again.
So technically you have up to FIVE ways to win.

I'll choose a winner by random selection one week from today! Good luck!

Feature post & Giveaway: Handmade Colectibles

Regardless if Handmade Colectibles was a sponsor of mine or not, I would have been SO into sharing this fabulous woman and small business with all of you. I actually had the privilege of meeting Cole last year and fell in love with her super sweet personality. She's truly a doll. And even better, Cole's incredibly creative and makes some of the most gorgeous felt creations at her Etsy shop.  We actually have a mustard and cream wreath hanging on our front door, and her roses throughout our home. I can tell you from first hand experience what great quality they are, and how fabulous Cole's customer service is. I love the idea that you can give a bouquet that will last forever.  This month Better Homes and Gardens agrees with me, and you can find her in their Holiday and Crafts issue, on newsstands now. Also be sure to check out her personal blog, it's really inspiring and one of my favorites.

the same wreath we have on our door!

From Cole:

Hi I'm Cole, wife & mama, blogger, Arizona native & pretty-felt-flower maker. Ive been obsessed with roses ever since I was a little girl and my dad would bring me home a bouquet full of them every year on my birthday.  Nowadays the fascination has turned into a creative passion as I spend my days making handmade roses out of wool felt so that they can be treasured forever. I love being able to create something unique and beautiful for someones home or wedding day and know that it will be something that they can cherish for years to come.  Handmade Colectibles began a year ago and it has been an exciting journey ever since. My hope is that you will fall in love with one of my creations because I absolutely love making each one.

And today I am REALLY excited to offer a rad giveaway from Handmade Colectibles.

Up for grabs is a $45 shop credit!

Here's how to enter:

Visit Handmade Colectibles on Facebook, and become a fan by "liking" the page.  Then leave a comment below letting me know you did so, along with your name and email address! Simple!

I'll choose a winner THIS THURSDAY, 9/29/11.

Good luck to all who enter!
